Keep up the good work, the citizens support you even if your Mayor doesn't. CHEERS!

Here is an open letter from the Oakland Police Officer Association

POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION

1 November 2011 – Oakland, Ca.

We represent the 645 police officers who work hard every day to protect the citizens of Oakland. We, too, are the 99% fighting for better working conditions, fair treatment and the ability to provide a living for our children and families. We are severely understaffed with many City beats remaining unprotected by police during the day and evening hours.

As your police officers, we are confused.

On Tuesday, October 25th, we were ordered by Mayor Quan to clear out the encampments at Frank Ogawa Plaza and to keep protesters out of the Plaza. We performed the job that the Mayor’s Administration asked us to do, being fully aware that past protests in Oakland have resulted in rioting, violence and destruction of property.

Then, on Wednesday, October 26th, the Mayor allowed protesters back in – to camp out at the very place they were evacuated from the day before.

To add to the confusion, the Administration issued a memo on Friday, October 28th to all City workers in support of the “Stop Work” strike scheduled for Wednesday, giving all employees, except for police officers, permission to take the day off.

That’s hundreds of City workers encouraged to take off work to participate in the protest against “the establishment.” But aren’t the Mayor and her Administration part of the establishment they are paying City employees to protest? Is it the City’s intention to have City employees on both sides of a skirmish line?

It is all very confusing to us.

Meanwhile, a message has been sent to all police officers: Everyone, including those who have the day off, must show up for work on Wednesday. This is also being paid for by Oakland taxpayers. Last week’s events alone cost Oakland taxpayers over $1 million.

The Mayor and her Administration are beefing up police presence for Wednesday’s work strike they are encouraging and even “staffing,” spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars for additional police presence – at a time when the Mayor is also asking Oakland residents to vote on an $80 parcel tax to bail out the City’s failing finances.

All of these mixed messages are confusing.

We love Oakland and just want to do our jobs to protect Oakland residents. We respectfully ask the citizens of Oakland to join us in demanding that our City officials, including Mayor Quan, make sound decisions and take responsibility for these decisions. Oakland is struggling – we need real leaders NOW who will step up and lead – not send mixed messages. Thank you for listening.

Change? What the...?

I posted this on my other blog on March 11, 2009. This was my inspiration to start the Cheerwhine blog.

We have all seen it, the blue grey and white posters and stickers from the Obama campaign. There is even a web site where you can join the "group" and make your own picture. SOOOOO in the 'spirit' of our leaders politics and biases, I have surrounded him with a 'crowd of witnesses' that only our President would be proud to be part of....(or already is)

Here he is. Our president. Cigarette anyone, at least the tobacco companies are breathing a breath of relief since they aren't enemy number one any more. I hope to make this into a poster in 2012. This sums up his progress for me.

These two Obama and Hugo are gonna change the Americas!!! It was all summed up in Hugo's speech, welcome to the club Obama.

This is Obama's hero, he has socialized medicine and everything, even cars from the 1950's the classics. Just wait...we will become friends with them again so Obama can smoke the good stuff.

Here's one, this guy has an awesome nuclear program, and we totally believe that he isn't gonna use it to build bombs, TOTALLY! Oh and lets not mention is connection to the Holocaust...lets not even mention his islamic belief on the gays. How does a president that is such a gay supporter be a friend of such gay haters. Hmmm think about it

Better get used to seeing this guys face in our country, since we borrowed most of the bail out from them and Obama and Clinton were more than willing to put up our land and businesses up as collateral. But hey they too have socialized medicine and are more than willing to kill your second, third and forth child after it is born.

Ahhhh, the one that started it all. Started the class envy, the socialized medicine, getting rid of God, the Utopian society where everyone is equally poor. This train of thought has been proven over and over again that it doesn't work, but hey lets give it a try here huh Obama?

These two cats put Marx' plan into action. Interesting how Lenin's scowl matches Obama's(see end of the blog) They all use similar tactics, they all have a blinded press doing their PR. Let's pray our leader won't eliminate free speech, freedom to criticize the government or a small group of people who have decided to love the same sex, if you do you'll catch a hate crime.

Little lesser known from history but in the same camp. OH he stopped racial tensions in his country. By keeping them all dependent on the government and his civil military. Yep. But when Yugoslavia became free it was as if time never stopped, all the same prejudices resurfaced. Socialism doesn't change people it just covers the issue with a worse one. Is that gonna happen here? Obama hopes so.Hold on, hear me out with these guys. Yes, they are all in the same camp. The dude on the top won his election by promising change, just like our guy did. However he began to put the blame of his countries depression on a certain race of people, these are the robbers the wealthy taking advantage of the poor. Their success has driven our country into this mess. They are pigs, money ravenous dogs...you get the hint. Will this happen here, it sure could. It may not be a race of people but it maybe a certain group of people who believe in absolute truth, right and wrong. These people are full of hate and are causing this country to be destroyed, we must eliminate these radicals. Hmm scary thing is it doesn't seem so far fetched!!! Then the other boob followed blindly and joined in so his country wouldn't be obliterated by the Fatherland. Who out of fear will follow our guy to save their necks. England, Canada, France, Japan any takers. Oh, They hated the gays too.

Here are two more recent group members. I wonder what kind of relationship Obama and his clan would have with these two leaders if he was President back in the day. Oh that's right it would be the same as the first three in this blog. (Update: Gaddafi is dead, sacrificed with Obama's help)


There he is folks the 'father' of change to the USA. He thinks he won a landslide and is gonna force his socialist beliefs down our throats. He isn't even trying to hide it, just like all the crowd of witnesses above he is vocal and open in this. He hates free enterprise (accept for the tobacco industry). And he wants to silence all voices of opposition. He stutters and gets flustered when the media asks a question doubting his actions. How could they, their my media. He has already doubled our debt, wants to give our country to China, he wants to kill another generation of unborn children, not only here but all over the world. He doesn't have time to fix the economy, doesn't want to be bothered by it. He has bigger things to do. Lets turn the country RED. Lets put up more posters of me in the streets. Hang it from government buildings cause I'm the one who brings HOPE. Lets tell them how to raise their children and how they should grow up to think that we the government has been created by us to create a more perfect union. Lets give all those the right to love, live, kill, steel, and destroy how they choose. Your gonna CHANGE America, period. We are gonna make you. In the words of an American Idol wanna be, TAKE IT TAKE IT TAKE IT!!!! 

Whiner Quan isnt alone, WHINE!

 Jean Quan has come out in support of the Occupiers in her city, she is the Mayor of Oakland. She is anti-Oakland.

Another Whine as I see it...Egypt - Lybia

This is Former dictator Mubarak of Eqypt. The other is our President. This is an older photo, I bet old Mubarak would of never thought he'd here from her Ally to step down and let democracy reign. So eloquently as a teleprompter can give the words to a president to speak. Our president was taking a stand as a champion for the people of Egypt and calling for the regime of Mubarak to end. We all know what happened Mubarak did step down and now the military is in charge and supposedly they will have "free" elections in six months. Something to watch.
Okay, cool. Im all for democracy and freedom to choose who will rule you.Or having the right to assemble and voice your opposition to those in authority. Ive been to several Tea Parties. Taxed Enough Already.

Fast Forward a week later. Lybia is seeing the exact same thing. However their government isnt taking it like Egypt did. They are fighting back, taking a lesson from Ahmadinejad (last years protests and protests after Egypt) you have to squash the opposition. This has been going on in Libya for a week now and until today our President has been virtually silent on the matter. But when he spoke today there was no verbiage calling for democracy in Libya or calling for Qaddafi to step down, no he's gonna send Hilary over to work things out. Of course the first time our president spoke about Egypt he wasn't Liberty's hero either, he changed his tune and side. So Qaddafi, watch out if our president doesn't have a good track record on sticking to what he says. Maybe that will work out for you. So for now you get a whine Mr President.

I'm a big Genealogy fan. Its my hobby and past time. This Cheer goes to the Ms Vanessa Williams. She was the first Black Miss America! (forget the 'Penthouse' thing) You cant take away that she broke a barrier of race that hadn't been broken yet. A modern trail blazer if you wish. :)
Last Friday Night she was on the NBC show, "Who Do You Think You Are?" (I love this show, big CHEERS for NBC and Ancestry.com) In this show Ms Williams searches her family history through both lines of her family. If you didnt watch this, I think the episode is on hulu.com.
In her searching she finds that She finds out that she wasnt the only trail blazer in the family. She comes from a long line of them. Her one grandfather, whom was born free, gave up (potentially) his freedom to fight for the freedom of others in the Civil War. He also trail blazed in society by being married to a whits lady. Big cheers for them and for New York State for allowing this.
Her other grandfather was born a slave, yet found an education and after the Civil War became one of the first Black men to serve in Tennessee's House of Rep's. He was a teacher and also a Federal Judge, and in the 'southern' state of Tennessee. WOW!!! Its a great story.

So CHEERS to you Ms Vanessa Williams, and thank you for sharing your family history with us. It truly is an American History!!!

A Cheer to Remember, a Whiner to forget

Fifty one years ago yesterday these four young men set a course of change in our country. Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, Ezell Blair Jr., and David Richmond entered a Woolworth's Lunchroom in Greensboro NC and sat there waiting to be served. However at this point in US history segregation was law and this was a 'White Only' counter. They were never served AND they just sat there. The next day they did the same thing. The following day they did the same thing. Eventually news got out what these young men were doing, supporters came by the hundreds.Soon similar sit ins happened in different parts of the country. The threat of being arrested, beaten, or worse didn't deter these students from challenging segregation. By July Woolworths integrated its stores and lunch rooms.So lets remember these four who spurred a movement of equality that their country had lost site of. They became known as the Greensboro Four. Later Joseph McNeil is quoted as saying..."This is my country, I not only fought for it (he served in Vietnam) I fought for the chance to make it right." CHEERS and a grateful heart felt THANKS to these roll models who changed the course of history!!!

Then there is this lady.

 

 Jane Kim. She is a city supervisor in San Francisco. Her family immigrated to the US in the early 70's. I wonder what the reason for the move from Korea? Could it be they came here for Freedom? Well her story is a success story and one like countless others who came here for a better life, found it and prospered and became involved in the great system of government we have here. She decided in her teens that the Pledge of Allegiance did not represent America and so she won't recite it. She says, is that the ideals it speaks of are not reality, specifically its conclusion, which says “with liberty and justice for all.”

But Ms Kim, this is a pledge we all recite. I pledge my allegiance. I promise to commit, be loyal too. Our pledge brings hope. Hope that change will happen. And has happened (refer to Greensboro Four). I hope Ms Kim will change her attitude and stand with the millions of Americans who do believe in their hearts that there is and can be liberty and justice for all!!! Its easy to not stand and say the pledge, Ms Kim but to disrespect Joseph McNeil and the Greensboro Four who fought and actually did something for change does deserve this WHINE!!! 

Oh and the thousands of Americans who fought and died to keep South Korea FREE also deserves your respect by reciting this Pledge of Allegiance.
